Introduction to Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect® Firm Settings

Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect's Firm Settings allow you to customize and manage the reporting and messaging templates driving the information displayed in the content items included in the Firm Overview, Client Overviews, Meetings Books, Client Reports, and Invoice Reports.  

To manage your settings in Portfolio Connect, go to Back Office > Firm Settings.

The report template allows you to manage content for each Client Reports page. The following settings can be edited within each page:

Content Management Manage and report templates
Branding Import firm log
Messaging Manage footnotes, milling messaging, and terms & disclaimers

Content  Management allows you to manage the reporting templates driving the information displayed. You can modify titles, hide pages, and control settings for content items.

Templates are managed by feature and allow you to apply unique settings for Overviews, Reports and Invoices. To manage your templates in Portfolio Connect, go to Back Office > Firm Settings > Content Management.

Firm Overview settings

These settings allow you to manage content for specific sections displayed on the Firm Overview. The following settings can be edited within specific content items:

Title A free text field allows you to edit the title displayed on each data tile.
Time Periods Displayed timeframes can be modified using the following selections:
  • 1 Week
  • Last Month
  • Last Quarter
  • 6 Months
  • Year to Date
  • 1 Year
  • 2 Year
  • 3 Year
  • 4 Year
  • 5 Year
  • 10 Year
  • All Available
Default This setting allows you to choose the default timeframe to be displayed when loading the overviews or reports.
Include Cash This setting allows you to include or exclude cash holdings in the Top Holdings tile on the Firm Overview

Client Overview settings

These settings allow you to manage content for specific sections displayed on the Client Overview and Positions for both Accounts and Account Groups. The following settings can be edited within the specific content items:

Title A free text field allows you to edit the title displayed on each data tile.
Time Periods Displayed timeframes can be modified using the following selections:
  • 1 Week
  • Last Month
  • Last Quarter
  • 6 Months
  • Year to Date
  • 1 Year
  • 2 Year
  • 3 Year
  • 4 Year
  • 5 Year
  • 10 Year
  • All Available
Default This setting allows you to choose the default timeframe to be displayed when loading the overviews or reports.
Display Annual Returns This setting allows you to annualize time-weighted returns for timeframes over 12 months. If unchecked, cumulative returns will display.
Exclude Assets Display This setting allows you to choose the default display for excluded assets on positions pages.
  • Managed & Excluded: Display securities excluded from performance separately from "Managed" securities.
  • Managed Only: Display only securities that are not excluded from performance.
  • Display all as Managed: Display securities as "Managed" regardless of exclude from performance setting.
Display Sub-totals This setting allows you to display of hide sub-totals for specific sort levels.
  • Level 1: Display or hide sub-totals for Asset-Classes in the Positions view.
  • Level 2: Display or hide sub-totals for Security Types in the Positions view.

The reporting templates allow you to manage content for each page in the Client Reports, Meeting Books, and Invoice Reports. The following settings can be edited:

Include your firm logo in Client Reports, Meeting Books and Invoice reports.

To manage your logo in Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect, go to Back Office > Branding.

Messaging displayed in Client Reports, Meeting Books and Invoice Reports can be customized Portfolio Connect Messaging.
 
To edit messaging go to Back Office > Firm Settings > Footnotes, Billing Messages or Terms & Disclaimers.
