Introduction to Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect Client Reports

Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect Client Reports provides reporting capabilities and the ability to create presentations for end-clients, including period performance, holdings, activity, and other information for accounts and account groups.

To view client reports in Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect, go to Reports > Client Reports. The Date Selector displays the recent quarter period-end as the default.

The Client Report List displays all reports for accounts and account groups for the specified quarter. The list provides access to previously generated, historical reports and serves as a period-end workflow manager.
 
After a period ends, you can view available reports for that period as Available for Review. After reviewing report information, generate and download the PDF file to your local PC.

Note: For the best printing experience, use Google Chrome and uncheck Headers and Footers in the print settings. 

The system stores the most recent version of the PDF file report and displays the information available during its generation. For additional details, click  next to the Status.

Below are the fields found under the Client Reports List:

Feature Description
Period Selector Allows you to navigate to prior period ends. Only periods with scheduled reporting or invoicing are available.
Date The period-end date for which content was produced. Serves as navigation for the report content.
Name The Display Name of the account or account group that is used system-wide. Note: Client Facing name is used on the report content.
Template Used to determine the client report content package.
Frequency Determines how many times during a year client reports or invoices are produced. Quarterly reports and invoices are available at this time. Invoice reports may also be run monthly.
Status Represents different stages of a report during the PDF file review and generation process.
  • Available for Review—Default status system assigns to new reports on Period End+1 day. Actions to take from this status are Open for Review or Generate PDF.
  • PDF in Progress—Temporary status while batch is processed by system.
  • PDF Failed—File not generated as requested.
  • PDF Available—PDF version of report generated and saved successfully.
  • PDF AvailableErrors—If client report results in this status, data issues are captured in the report during PDF generation.
Generate All PDFs Allows you to bulk generate reports with Available for ReviewPDF Available, and PDF Available: Errors status. Use this feature before downloading PDFs.
Download All PDFs Allows you to bulk download reports with PDF Available and PDF Available: Errors status. Use this feature after reviewing and generating reports.
Filter Allows you to search for reports by name or status. Filters are persistent and will remain after you navigate away from the page.
Refresh Used to refresh the page and display new report status.

Why isn't a report showing for an account or account group?
Confirm the Report Settings for each account and/or account group are set to YesProduct Client Reports. In addition, accounts and account groups with the status Status Closed, or Delinked, may not show in the client report list. Finally, accounts with the status New need to be taken out of Review. How can I change page titles or time period in a content item within a client report?
Change page titles and time period in the default report template. Within Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect, go to Back Office Firm Settings > Content Management. For more information, reference Introduction to Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect® Firm Settings.

 

How can I add footnotes to my reports?
Add footnotes for all client reports in the Footnote section under Content Authorship. Go to Firm Settings Footnotes. Under Name, select the footnote and customize as appropriate. For more information, reference Introduction to Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect® Content Authorship.

 

How can I generate PDF versions for all reports in the selected period?
You can generate all PDFs within the Client Reports List. Go to Reports > Client Reports List > click Generate All PDFs. You will be able to review the list of reports before confirming the generation. The system will generate PDF files for all reports in the period.

 

How can I download all available PDF reports in the selected period?
You can download all PDFs within the Client Reports List. Go to Reports > Client Reports List > click Download All PDFs. You will be able to review the list of reports before confirming the download. The system will prepare a ZIP archive with the PDF files selected for download. Only reports in the PDF Available and PDF Available: Errors can be downloaded.

 

How can I manage Terms and Disclaimer page content?
Manage content for the Terms and Disclaimers page in the Terms and Disclaimers section under Firm Settings. Go to Firm Settings > Terms & Disclaimers. Under Name, select the terms and disclaimers and customize as appropriate. For more information, reference Introduction to Schwab Advisor Portfolio Connect® Content Authorship.

 

How do I generate ad-hoc reports?
Reports can be generated at any time for accounts and account groups by running the Meeting Book. Go to the Accounts or Account Groups List > click thekabob iconicon > View Meeting Book. The Meeting Book will run to the previous business day. Alternatively, the Meeting Book may be un for any selected date by going to the Account or Account Group Overview > click thekabob iconicon on the left side of the page > Meeting Book.
