What is the difference between the Download ID and the Schwab Advisor Center ID?

  • The download ID, which goes through a one-time enrollment process from the Salesforce System Administrator, is used by the entire firm specifically for the automatic daily download of the previous business day balances, positions, and account profile data.
  • The Schwab Advisor Center ID, which the Gateway for Salesforce users at your firm must each have and enroll, is used in:
    • Salesforce to access Schwab Advisor Center data and do on-demand, manual downloads
    • Schwab Advisor Center to see real-time balance updates and alerts, and for single-sign on to Schwab Advisor Center

Why am I not seeing all of my Schwab Advisor Center alerts in Salesforce?
Alerts opened and read on Schwab Advisor Center are not added to the Salesforce database. New installations of the app have a download frequency for Alerts set to once an hour.

What is the difference between the Download Now and Assign Accounts buttons?
Download Now
gives you the option of manually downloading data during a non-scheduled time. Assign Accounts, however, runs the mapping criteria (with the downloaded data) and uses the information in the Account Mapping section to automatically assign the Gateway Accounts from Schwab Advisor Center to the contacts in your Salesforce Org.

Why are we limited to three downloads a day?
The downloaded balances, positions, and account details are as-of previous business day, so no intra-day updates are available to download. Downloading at 10:00 a.m. and then again at 1:00 p.m. will produce the same data. The limit is to prevent unnecessary downloads of the same data throughout the day.

How does the Auto-Assign Accounts feature work?
The Auto-Assign feature in Gateway for Salesforce provides a way for you to map two data points from incoming Gateway Accounts to two data points for contacts in your Salesforce Org so that the accounts will automatically be linked, saving you time when manually matching accounts. You have to map two fields and both fields must have data that matches.

Example: Map the birthdate field from Gateway Accounts to a similar birthday or date of birth field on the contact record in your org, and then map the email address from the Gateway Accounts to a similar email field on the contacts. When new Gateway Accounts come in matching both of these data fields, the Gateway Account automatically becomes a related record for the contact.

I already download data from another source. Can I combine the data I get from that source with this data in Financial Services Cloud?
Yes. There is an account mapping table to help you select the data you want to download from Schwab Advisor Center Integration for Salesforce so you do not overwrite Schwab account data you are getting from another integration.

I already download data from another source. Can I combine the data I get from that source with this data in Sales Cloud?
No. At this time, this setting is not available in Sales Cloud.
