How to upload files using Schwab Advisor Center® 

The File Uploads tool on Schwab Advisor Center allows advisors or a third-party administrator to transfer files from your desktop to Schwab Advisor Services™. You can use the File Uploads tool to upload files to Schwab Advisor Center and view upload history.

To upload files to Schwab, you will need the following:

  • Access Upload Files security function
  • For import files:
    • File with a path and name 250 characters or fewer
    • File size must be 500KB or less
    • A properly formatted file

This process may be used to upload files using the File Uploads tool on Schwab Advisor Center.

  1. Go to Schwab Advisor Center and select More > Upload Files.
  2. Click Browse and locate the file you wish to upload. Select the appropriate master account and then select the appropriate file type from the drop-down list.
  3. Click Upload File to Schwab. If your upload was successful, the results of your upload and the file information are displayed.

This process may be used to view files previously uploaded to Schwab.

  1. Go to Schwab Advisor Center and select More > View Upload History.
  2. Click Browse and locate the file you wish to upload. Select the appropriate master account and the file type from the drop-down list.
  3. Select the date range of the files you want to locate. Click Search.
  4. If the search did not return any results, you will receive a message stating there were no files that matched the search criteria or the results exceeded 500 files. Otherwise, the search results are displayed in descending order by upload date.

Once you have submitted your request:

  • Check the Alerts tab for any management fee and trading alerts.
  • Be aware that submitted trade orders go straight to market. No special handling is necessary.
  • Allocate any unallocated block trades by 5 p.m. ET.
